Naperville Pom & Cheer

As they say, “all good things must come to an end” and that is the fate of Naperville Pom and Cheer. It is with a sad heart that the NPC Board has decided to make last season our final season and will not be returning for the 2019 season which would have opened in March.

It was a difficult decision to make since the Board has given so much of their time and energies to the organization making it the outstanding program that it was. Unfortunately, with the lack of participation in football comes the lack of participation in football cheerleading. We have watched our numbers diminish over recent years from the glory days of almost 500 participants making the costs of running the program economically infeasible. We wanted the participants to have the best possible experience, but with the smaller numbers, we feel that it is just not in alignment with our mission statement of “providing a safe, fun, and positive environment to learn basic cheerleading skills.”

We have coached, organized and watched daughters grow up over the course of 15 seasons. We have supported each of the Naperville area high school’s cheerleading programs by having their cheerleaders teach at our camps each fall and by aiding their fundraising efforts. We have also given $10,000 in scholarships by means of the Susan Triplett Scholarship named for the daughter of St. Raphael Football League founder, Jim Brown.

Lastly, we would like to thank you all for your support and participation over the years. It has been a pleasure to work alongside all of you and the staff and members of the St. Raphael Football League. We have made many friends and will miss seeing you again in the fall. You have all been A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!

Cheers to all of you!
